Current Activities & Upcoming Performances



Stevan Kovacs Tickmayer was invited by Gidon Kremer as a composer in residence during the 6. edition of the Kremerata Baltica Festival at Sigulda (Latvia) scheduled for the end of June 2009.
In July, Tickmayer will join Kremerata Baltica at the Lockenhaus Kammermusikfest.
During these residences, the following compositions are going to be performed or world premiered* under the author’s direction:

Canonic Invocations – Monumentum pro J. Haydn* (for violin, viola, cello and string orchestra)
/27.06.2009 Sigulda and 12.07.2009 Lockenhaus/

East-West Soundscapes* (for violin, vibraphone and string orchestra)
/28.06.2009 Sigulda, 29.06.2009 Riga and 11.07.2009 Lockenhaus/

Dialogues with Haydn* (for vibraphone, two violins, viola and double bass)

Tickmayer will also perform his Gardon Music/Ostinato Barbaro for piano solo
/26.06.2009, Sigulda/

The author will play the piano part of his composition Crippled Tango written for Kremerata Baltica Sextet (26.06.2009, Sigulda) and conduct the composition for violoncello and orchestra Variations on a Theme by Haydn (Tod ist ein langer Schlaf) by Edison Denisov (11.07.2009 at Lockenhaus).

The new composition entitled Revisited Paths for twelve musicians was world premiered on the 15th. of May by the Axyzs Ensemble on the Karnatic Lab Festival, in the Ysbreker, Amsterdam . Jos Zwannenburg conducted the premiere.



News for: 22.03.2004.

The avant-premiere of the duo for violin and double bass entitled Caspar David Friedrich Zyklus will be performed by Gisela Arnold (violin) Martin Dobner (bass) on the 30th of March, at Bar Central in Saarbrucken . The same piece is programmed on the Saarbrucken Radio Station chamber music concert series for the season 2004-2005 (dates will be announced).

The compositions Different Divisions & Choral in violin/piano duo version is going to be performed by Julija Hartig and Reineke Broekhans on the 14th of April at the NOMUS music festival in Novi Sad .

Several world premieres are announced for this year:
Compositions entitled Sextet and Crippled Tango Quintet written for the Kremerata Baltica Sextet is going to be premiered in the Baltic States .
Preliminary dates are:
21st of May - Riga ( Latvia )
22-23 of May - Parnu and Tallin ( Estonia )
These compositions are going to be recordedby the Estonian Radio Station as well.

The new composition written for the international chamber music group based in Amsterdam , AXYZ Ensemble will take it's premiere on the 15th of May in De Ysbreker Amsterdam.

The duo for violin and double bass entitled Caspar David Friedrich Zyklus, dedicated
to Keller Andras and Martin Dobner will be performed and recorded by the Saarbrücken Radio Station. Dates to be announced.

The Budapest based Keller Quartett will premiered Five Movements for String Quartet.
Andràs Keller will also premiered the complete composition for solo violin entitled Spoors - Four Tracks Dates to be announced.
